XPENG and Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solutions jointly unveiled a
new generation of AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display) which will make
its debut on the XPENG G7 model.
The “Chasing Light Panoramic” HUD system is a result of close collaboration
between XPENG and Huawei. Built through a powerful hardware-software
integration, the two companies have jointly developed this intelligent cockpit solution.
In terms of display performance, the system features a class-leading 87-inch ultra-
wide field of view, capable of displaying information across multiple lanes. It also
boasts industry-leading brightness of 12,000 nits and a contrast ratio of 1800:1,
ensuring content remains clear and visible under all lighting conditions—delivering
truly vivid and reliable visuals.
For user comfort, XPENG and Huawei have co-developed a proprietary distortion
correction algorithm, reducing display distortion to below 1%. Combined with a virtual
image projection distance of 10 meters and ultra-low latency of 100 milliseconds, the
system offers extended viewing comfort with minimal eye strain or motion sickness.
In terms of accuracy, the system leverages XPENG’s advanced driver-assistance 3D
OCC technology and a jointly developed AR engine prediction algorithm. Paired with
a minimalist, natural, and clear visual design, the AR-HUD ensures perfect alignment
of virtual information with the real road—delivering an “anchored to the road” effect
without blocking the driver’s view.
