JD.com introduced its new digital human assistant “TaTaTa” at the
JDDiscovery 2025 Global Tech Explorer Conference in Beijing, themed “Enjoy AI.” During his
keynote speech, JD.com Vice Chairman of the SEC and CEO Xu Ran demonstrated the
assistant by ordering coffee delivery for attendees.

Xu activated the assistant, also known as “Dr. Omniversal,” with a simple voice command:
“Hello, Dr. Omniversal, please order a coffee for my friends at the venue.” The assistant
quickly processed the request, recommended JD’s delivery service, and suggested three
coffee options. After Xu confirmed the item, quantity, drop-off location, and special instructions
through voice and touch interaction, the order was seamlessly completed, including payment.
The live demo highlighted the practical capabilities of “TaTaTa” in integrating voice interaction,
intelligent recommendation, and real-time transaction execution, showcasing JD.com’s latest
move in AI-powered consumer services.
