Insta360 Plants Its Flag: 500+ Apple Authorized Stores Across China Now Carry Its Camera Lineup

Insta360 has quietly become one of the most strategically positioned camera brands in the world — and its latest move makes that position impossible to ignore. The Shenzhen-based company has partnered with Apple China to debut its product lineup across more than 500 Apple authorized retail stores spanning all 31 provincial regions of China. It's a coordinated, nationwide rollout that most hardware brands only dream about.

More Than a Distribution Deal

On the surface, this looks like a retail expansion. Dig deeper and it's something more calculated. Insta360 has held the distinction of being the only panoramic and action camera brand sold at Apple Stores worldwide since 2018 — a relationship that now stretches into its seventh year. That kind of exclusivity doesn't happen by accident. It reflects a hardware philosophy that aligns closely with Apple's own: tight software integration, premium build quality, and an experience that just works.

The products making their China debut through this partnership include the Luna Ultra gimbal, the GoUltra thumb camera, and the Snap phone selfie screen — a range that targets content creators across different use cases, from stabilized video to casual capture to mobile selfie setups.

Home Turf, High Stakes

What makes this launch particularly significant is its geography. China is both Insta360's home market and one of its most competitive battlegrounds. DJI, another Shenzhen-based hardware giant, has long dominated action and stabilization camera categories domestically. By pushing into Apple's authorized retail ecosystem at scale, Insta360 is leveraging brand credibility and premium retail placement to carve out space in a market where brand perception matters enormously.

Globally, Insta360 already operates nearly 300 brand stores and holds shelf space at major Western retailers including Costco, Best Buy, and Sam's Club. The China Apple rollout doesn't just add storefronts — it adds a signal. It tells consumers and competitors alike that Insta360 is playing at the highest tier of consumer hardware retail.

The XR Angle Worth Watching

As spatial computing and immersive content creation edge closer to mainstream adoption, 360-degree and action camera hardware becomes increasingly relevant infrastructure. Insta360's position inside Apple's retail orbit — on both sides of the Pacific — puts it in a strong spot as that transition accelerates.
