“Civilization for 10,000 Years” Launches “Agricultural Civilization” VR Experience,Bringing Traditional Farming into Virtual Reality

The “Civilization for 10,000 Years: Intelligent Society Experience Center”, a major

project at the National Smart Society Governance Experiment Base in Wuhan’s East Lake

High-Tech Zone, officially unveiled its core VR experience, “Agricultural Civilization”.

Developed by Peking University Wuhan AI Research Institute, the VR module integrates

cutting-edge technologies such as AI large language models, virtual reality (VR), and large-

scale entertainment location-based experience (LBE). This marks a significant leap in the

“Tech + Humanities” model within the Metaverse for cultural tourism, AI education, and

scientific outreach.

The “Agricultural Civilization” VR experience immerses participants in ancient China’s

traditional farming society, where AI-driven virtual characters guide users through iconic

scenes such as rice planting, the imperial exam, court trials, and city defense battles. As "future time travelers," visitors can engage in interactive, immersive experiences of Song

Dynasty rice harvesting, imperial exams, and cold weapon warfare. The module also offers

insights into the ancient Chinese taxation system and the transformative power of the imperial

exams, all while learning about the evolution of Chinese civilization and governance systems

through an entertaining lens.
