Watch Giant Pandas through AI Glasses: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding Unveils Smart AR Tour Guide Initiative

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding teamed up with

Chinese tech firms INMO and Big Model to roll out an intelligent guiding initiative,

introducing the INMO Go3 AI glasses powered by the GLM-4.7 large language

model. The project offers visitors a cutting-edge AR driven smart exploration

experience.

This initiative seamlessly merges AR technology with cultural tourism. As visitors

wear the sleek, lightweight AI glasses and approach must-see spots—such as the

Panda Bronze Statue or the Panda Nursery- the device automatically delivers

location aware educational content. This includes detailed insights into giant panda

behavior, breeding science, ecological conservation, and the history of the base

itself. Meanwhile, the glasses feature real time AI Q&A, capable of recognizing

surroundings and generating engaging narration - transforming the tour from

sightseeing into interactive discovery.

Designed for seamless usability, the glasses operate independently - no smartphone

is required - and fit naturally into the visitor’s journey. Their lightweight build ensures

comfort, while the high visibility display remains clear even in bright outdoor light. A

magnetic swappable battery can be replaced in just five seconds, removing any

worry about power. Currently, self service rental stations at the South Gate and West

Gate offer sanitized units for rent, with the flexibility to return them at any designated

drop off point.

By blending technology with education and immersion, this project invites visitors to

delve deeper into the world of giant pandas, enriching their experience while

respecting the natural pace of exploration.f
