Visakhapatnam's skyline is about to get a futuristic upgrade with the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) launching the "Vizag Experience & VR Arena & 3-Star Hotel" under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Spanning 2.82 acres along Law College Road in Rushikonda, this ₹90 crore project promises a 3-year completion timeline and positions Vizag as India's next XR tourism hotspot.
Immersive Attractions for Every Thrill-Seeker
At the heart of the arena lies a 360° immersive theatre, blending virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and interactive gaming for mind-bending experiences. Visitors can dive into mixed reality escape rooms, thematic animation shows, virtual time travel through Vizag's heritage, and high-octane VR gaming zones—complete with an aquarium twist. A drive-in food court, all-time cafes, fine dining options, and a boutique 3-star hotel round out the offerings, making it a one-stop destination for families, tourists, and tech enthusiasts.
Boosting Vizag's Tourism and Economy
This project taps into Vizag's booming tourism potential, drawing parallels to global XR hubs while creating jobs and spurring real estate growth in the rapidly expanding Madhurawada area. VMRDA Chairperson MV Pranav Gopal envisions it as a world-class, sustainable draw for locals, NRIs, and visitors, complementing nearby developments like the East Coast Habitat Centre. For India's XR scene, it's a game-changer—showcasing how southern cities are leading immersive tech adoption.
XROM will track this project's progress, from tender bids to opening day. Stay tuned for updates on how Vizag is redefining extended reality entertainment!
