VIVO’s Parent Company Files XR Patent to Rotate Virtual Objects Toward the User

Information from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA)
revealed that Vivo Mobile Communication Co., Ltd., the parent company of VIVO, has filed a patent titled ,Display Object Control Method for XR Device and Electronic Equipment
(Publication No. CN120406740A), with the application date listed as April 2025.

According to the abstract, the patent discloses a method for controlling the display of objects
within an XR (Extended Reality) device. The method involves obtaining target parameters,
including the head position of the first user. Based on the position of the user’s head and the
location of the displayed object, the system determines whether the object’s orientation needs
to be adjusted. If so, the front of the object is rotated to face the user. This patent belongs to
the field of extended reality and aims to improve the immersive experience by ensuring that
displayed content dynamically aligns with the user’s viewpoint.
