Visionox Releases Breakthrough Technology Enabling AMOLED Pixelization via Photolithography

Visionox, a world-leading supplier of OLED display technology, recently announced

that its self-developed Visionox intelligent Pixelization® (ViP) technology was

officially released in May 2023. This technology achieves AMOLED pixelization

through photolithography for the first time, significantly enhancing display

performance and marking a new era of development for AMOLED displays.

As a company incubated from Tsinghua University’s OLED project team, Visionox

has been committed to original innovation in the OLED field since its founding in

2001. To date, the company has filed over 21,000 OLED patents and has led the

development of more than 30 OLED international, national, and industrial standards.

The introduction of ViP technology represents yet another “world first” for Visionox,

following its earlier achievements including the world’s first ultra-narrow bezels and

mass-produced under-display camera (UDC) technology.

According to Visionox, the ViP technology abandons the limitations of traditional

Fine Metal Mask (FMM) processes, using photolithography to directly pattern

AMOLED pixels. This significantly improves pixel density, luminous efficiency, and

panel lifetime, while supporting high-efficiency production on larger substrates.

Based on this technology, Visionox has already begun construction of the world’s first

G8.6 AMOLED production line – the Hefei Govisionox G8.6 AMOLED production

line – in Hefei. With a total investment of CNY 55 billion, the line is designed for a

monthly input capacity of 32,000 glass substrates (2,290mm × 2,620mm), primarily

targeting the high-end medium-sized display market while also accommodating

small-sized products. The goal is to achieve a full-size, high-performance, high-

efficiency mass production solution for AMOLED displays.

Visionox states that the release and industrial application of ViP technology will drive

China’s display industry from “follow-along” innovation to “fundamental”

innovation, further solidifying its leading position in the global emerging display

market. (Source: VRAR WORLD)
