Virtual Reality Case Repository Launched at IIM Ranchi

The Hon’ble Vice President of India inaugurated the Virtual Reality Case Repository at the Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi. This pioneering initiative reimagines the traditional case method of management education by embedding immersive VR experiences into the classroom.

For decades, the case method has been central to building managerial thinking. Yet, classrooms often struggle to enable experimentation at scale. VR bridges this gap. Instead of merely reading about a supply chain disruption, learners can step into a virtual plant, observe bottlenecks, and make decisions in real time—bringing context to life in ways that text alone cannot.

The repository builds on the work at IIM Ranchi’s Centre for Teaching with AI, advancing the mission to make learning more immersive, interactive, and meaningful through emerging technologies. This initiative positions India at the forefront of educational innovation, blending AI, VR, and experiential pedagogy to prepare future leaders for complex, dynamic environments.

Looking ahead, the Virtual Reality Case Repository promises to transform management education by enabling hands‑on experimentation, deeper engagement, and scalable impact across institutions.
