MultiSet VPS Gen2 Unveiled at AWE

At this year's AWE conference, an update to the Visual Positioning System (VPS) was unveiled, marking a significant leap forward in spatial computing. The new MultiSet VPS Gen2 is the result of a comprehensive rebuild, designed to tackle one of the most critical challenges in the field: avoiding confident, yet incorrect, identifications.

The development team behind MultiSet AI has been working tirelessly to address this issue, which can have severe consequences in applications such as autonomous vehicles, drones, and smart cities. By focusing on the genuinely distinctive cues in a scene, Gen2's attention-based engine is able to distinguish between near-identical environments with unprecedented accuracy.

Compared to its predecessor, MultiSet VPS Gen1, the new system boasts impressive improvements. In the hardest scenes, recall has increased by 22 points, while accuracy has improved by up to 3.4%. Perhaps most significantly, false positives have been reduced from 73% to just 13%, with no loss of performance on new maps.

These advancements are a testament to the innovative spirit of the MultiSet AI team and their commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in spatial computing. As the technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more exciting developments in the field, with potential applications across a wide range of industries.
