REC Limited Brings AR-VR Labs to Haryana Schools: ₹1.40 Crore CSR Boost for Future-Ready Learning

In a major step toward transforming classroom education, REC Limited has committed ₹1.40 crore to establish immersive learning labs in 10 government schools across Karnal district, Haryana. These labs, called Green Innovator Immersive Learning Labs, will be powered by Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), 3D tools, and STEM modules, giving students hands-on exposure to technologies that are shaping the future.

The initiative is being implemented by the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Delhi. A formal agreement was signed on May 14, 2026, between REC Limited and IHFC at REC’s corporate office in Gurugram.

Why It Matters

  • Bridging the digital divide: Government school students will now access advanced tools usually reserved for private institutions.

  • Future-ready skills: The labs will train students in coding, robotics, design thinking, and digital literacy.

  • Boosting innovation: By encouraging problem-solving and creativity, the program prepares young minds for careers in the digital economy.

Voices from the Initiative

REC Limited emphasized that this CSR project reflects its commitment to strengthening India’s education ecosystem. By integrating immersive technologies into classrooms, the company hopes to empower students with skills that align with emerging industries like AI, robotics, and green energy.
