At the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference 2026, NHAI brought India’s world-class highways to life through Virtual Reality (VR). Delegates experienced a true-to-scale immersive visualization of the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, enabling them to virtually traverse the high-speed corridor and witness its design, interchanges, and connectivity features before completion.
This VR showcase reflects NHAI’s push towards digital infrastructure innovation, making highway projects more accessible, transparent, and engaging for stakeholders and the public.
🛣️ Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway: Key Highlights
Length: 109 km, access-controlled expressway
Route: Connects Sardar Patel Ring Road near Sarkhej (Ahmedabad) to Adhelai village (Bhavnagar district) via Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR)
Travel Time: Reduces Ahmedabad–Dholera commute to 45–50 minutes
Industrial Impact: Directly boosts connectivity to Dholera SIR, a key hub under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC)
Part of Bharatmala Project: Developed under EPC mode, ensuring world-class standards with flyovers, underpasses, and green belts
🎯 Why the VR Showcase Matters
