Nazara Technologies, India’s only publicly listed gaming company, has made a bold entry into the world of virtual reality and immersive gaming with the launch of Pokerverse VR—a multiplayer poker experience designed for next-generation headsets like Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro.
Developed by Hyderabad-based YesGnome and published by Nazara Publishing, Pokerverse VR is now available to players worldwide. The game offers a futuristic poker lounge where users can interact in real time, leveraging natural VR controls and gesture-based interactions to check, call, or peek at their cards. Players can choose between fully virtual environments or overlay the game onto their real-world surroundings using AR/VR flexibility, making the experience both immersive and adaptable.
“We wanted to reimagine poker as an immersive, social experience that felt tactile, intuitive, and global from day one,” said Sridhar Muppidi, Founder of YesGnome.
Nazara’s move comes as platforms like Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest continue to gain momentum in the global gaming market. Nitish Mittersain, Joint Managing Director and CEO of Nazara Technologies, highlighted the company’s commitment to exploring new possibilities in immersive gaming:
“As platforms like Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest gain traction, we see exciting possibilities in this space. We’re actively exploring future titles with developers who want to build for the next era of gaming.”
Nazara Publishing, the game publishing arm of Nazara Technologies, aims to empower both Indian and international developers by providing resources, expertise, and a robust network to bring innovative gaming experiences to a wider audience. While no additional VR titles have been announced yet, the company is actively scouting for high-potential projects to expand its immersive gaming portfolio.

On the financial front, Nazara Technologies reported a consolidated net profit of ₹4.07 crore for Q4 FY25, a significant increase from ₹18 lakh in the same quarter last year. However, losses from discontinued operations weighed on overall profitability. For the full year, the company’s net profit declined by 31.82% to ₹50.96 crore, even as revenue from operations nearly doubled year-on-year to ₹520.2 crore in Q4 FY25.
With the launch of Pokerverse VR, Nazara Technologies is positioning itself at the forefront of India’s rapidly evolving AR/VR gaming landscape, signaling its intent to shape the future of immersive entertainment both at home and abroad.
