Mphasis AI & Robotics Lab to Open at Sahyadri College, Mangaluru - Driving Innovation in Emerging Technologies

Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management is set to take a major step toward building India’s future technology ecosystem with the inauguration of the Mphasis AI and Robotics Laboratory. The event will be led by Higher Education Minister M. C. Sudhakar, with dignitaries including S. Vidyashankar, Vice‑Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University, and Sumit Chauhan, Head of CSR at Mphasis Foundation, in attendance.
The laboratory has been established under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Mphasis Foundation, in collaboration with the Sahyadri Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Foundation (SHINE Foundation), KDEM, and NASSCOM. With a commitment of ₹2 crore over four years, Mphasis Foundation aims to create a vibrant co‑creation and innovation ecosystem.

Aligned with the Beyond Bengaluru initiative, the lab is designed to position Mangaluru as an emerging hub for technology and entrepreneurship. Over the next five years, the initiative envisions building a strong digital talent pool by upskilling students in AI/ML, Blockchain, AR/VR, Gaming, and Robotics, while supporting MSME‑focused problem solving.
Currently, Sahyadri College supports 22 active startups, and this new facility is expected to accelerate the growth of regional innovation and industry‑academia collaboration.
