At the AGI Playground 2025 conference, well-known entrepreneur Luo Yonghao
appeared as a guest and shared updates on his ventures and recent experiences.
Luo revealed that he spent over a year—and a significant amount of money—only to
conclude that AR glasses are unlikely to be commercially viable within the next ten
years, calling it a very costly lesson. He then spent another year working on an
integrated AI hardware-software solution. As technology has advanced, software
rarely becomes a bottleneck, but in this case, “the hardware worked, but the software
turned into an engineering disaster.”
“We had originally planned to launch the hardware-software solution by the end of
last year or early this year,” Luo said. “But due to a major software failure, we weren’t
able to release it.” He added that his new company’s pure software solution may
launch within the next two or three months. “So I’ve come back into the spotlight to
prepare for its release.”
Luo also mentioned a conversation with DeepSeek’s Liang Wenfeng.
Liang asked him, “Why do you insist on doing tech? I think your ability to ‘make a
living by talking’ is among the best in the country.” Liang explained that anyone who
can reach a national top-tier level in any field should not waste that talent.
Reflecting on the comment, Luo said he began thinking: “If I were to pursue
something that relies on speaking while staying closely tied to the tech world—and
could even support my tech entrepreneurship—I’m now considering starting a
podcast like Lex Fridman’s or Joe Rogan’s, to have in-depth conversations with tech
leaders and entrepreneurs.”
