JSW Steel and AutoVRse: Pioneering VR Safety Training at Massive Scale

JSW Steel, a powerhouse in India's industrial landscape, has partnered with AutoVRse to roll out one of the largest VR training initiatives worldwide, standardizing safety protocols across multiple plants using Meta Quest 3 headsets. This collaboration began about a year ago with a single conveyor belt safety module and has since expanded rapidly, training thousands of frontline workers monthly in local languages.

Safety Champions Driving Change

Visionary leadership from K. Kiran Kumar, Group Head of Safety, alongside Abhinav Sharma and Surya Narayan Pandey, united JSW's digital, IT, and plant teams to deploy VR training across 6 Integrated Steel Plants (ISPs), 5 coated plants, and further sites in infrastructure, energy, and paints. The first module launched in just 45 days via AutoVRse's VRseBuilder, featuring hand-tracking for tech-illiterate users and multilingual support for diverse workforces. Over 50 modules are now in progress, targeting high-risk tasks like loco operations, welding, confined spaces, and electrical safety.

Proven Impact on Workforce Safety

Workers completing VR modules demonstrate knowledge retention for at least 12 months, with no reported incidents among trainees—transforming safety compliance by 37% in early pilots. AutoVRse's consequence-based simulations immerse employees in dangerous scenarios without real-world risk, building muscle memory for critical operations. JSW aims to train over 100,000 workers by March 2025, extending to ports and energy sectors, showcasing AutoVRse's scalable, cloud-based solution.

Why This Partnership Sets a Global Benchmark

AutoVRse's innovative tools enable rapid deployment—scaling from one to six steel plants in two months with six headsets per site—making JSW's program a model for industrial safety worldwide. By prioritizing frontline empowerment, this initiative not only boosts productivity but honors workers' safety in high-stakes environments. AutoVRse deserves applause for delivering accessible, effective VR that aligns perfectly with JSW's national-scale ambitions
