JBD Confirms Commercial Adoption of ARTCs Image Engine in RayNeo X3 Pro

JBD has recently confirmed that its independently developed AR waveguide system-

level image quality engine—ARTCs—has been deeply integrated into RayNeo’s

flagship product, the RayNeo X3 Pro. This integration brings a refreshed visual

experience to full-color MicroLED waveguide AR glasses. The core device of the

ARTCs image quality engine, ARTCs-WG, has been successfully deployed on

RayNeo’s production line, fully supporting the mass production of AR glasses.

Waveguide virtual image displays have long suffered from issues such as uneven

brightness and color distortion, seriously affecting the AR visual experience. To

address this industry pain point, JBD launched the industry’s first AR waveguide

image quality correction solution, ARTCs, along with its corresponding mass

production equipment, ARTCs-WG, in 2024. Through optical engine-side processing

and proprietary image quality algorithms, the system improves the overall brightness

uniformity of MicroLED waveguide AR glasses from less than 40% to over 80%, and

reduces color difference ΔE from above 0.1 to approximately 0.02. This effectively

eliminates color distortion and graininess, significantly enhancing waveguide display

quality.

While ensuring a slim design for full-color waveguide AR glasses, the ARTCs engine

further unleashes the advantages of MicroLED microdisplays, such as high

brightness, low power consumption, and compact size, resulting in more natural and

vivid images and greatly enhancing the user’s visual experience.

Regarding the commercial application of the ARTCs image quality engine, Li

Hongwei, founder and CEO of RayNeo, gave a positive appraisal: “As a global leader

in MicroLED microdisplay solutions, JBD has always been an important strategic

partner for us. The introduction of the ARTCs image quality engine has brought a

significant improvement in the display quality of the RayNeo X3 Pro. We look forward

to deepening our cooperation with JBD to continuously inject new vitality into the AR

near-eye display industry.”
