Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, is redefining rural education in Rajasthan with the launch of immersive STEM Labs powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR). In collaboration with the Society for All Round Development (SARD), the company has inaugurated advanced learning hubs in Bichchari and Zinc Smelter Government Schools, Udaipur.
These labs are more than refurbished classrooms—they are innovation ecosystems designed to ignite curiosity, strengthen problem-solving skills, and make science accessible through experiential learning. Equipped with AI-enabled interactive panels, AR/VR headsets, and over 5,000 digital modules, the initiative transforms traditional classrooms into future-ready digital playgrounds.
Aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), Hindustan Zinc’s CSR vision extends beyond infrastructure. Teachers receive immersive training, while students engage in workshops, science fairs, and hackathons—bridging the gap between rural learners and cutting-edge technology.
CEO Arun Misra emphasized that these labs are designed to “ignite curiosity and equip young minds with skills for a rapidly evolving world.” District education leaders echoed the sentiment, highlighting how activity-based learning fosters confidence and scientific temperament among rural students.
With over 76 government schools being transformed across Rajasthan, Hindustan Zinc is not just investing in classrooms—it is investing in the future of India’s rural youth, ensuring they are prepared for the digital-first world.
