In a milestone development for India's defence manufacturing and innovation ecosystem, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSU) Bhavan on November 10, 2025, at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi. This state-of-the-art facility is conceived as a central hub fostering synergy, collaboration, and innovation among all 16 Defence PSUs under the Department of Defence Production (DDP), symbolizing India’s commitment to Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), sustainable growth, and global competitiveness.

At the heart of the Bhavan's technological prowess lies an advanced Simulation Room equipped with immersive AR/VR technology designed to recreate real battlefield conditions. This simulation capability not only enhances training realism but also supports joint research and development across DPSUs by allowing stakeholders to visualize and interact with complex defence scenarios in a controlled, virtual environment. The use of extended reality (XR) in this setting marks a significant leap toward technology-driven defence preparedness, providing India’s defence forces and industry leaders with cutting-edge tools to innovate, strategize, and refine indigenous defence platforms.

Beyond the Simulation Room, the Bhavan hosts modern conference halls and digital collaboration zones alongside display areas showcasing India's indigenous defence products. These features promote transparency, knowledge exchange, and a unified approach towards defence R&D and production. The inauguration event, attended by high-ranking officials including Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth and Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, was also aligned with the announcement of 2025 as the 'Year of Reforms' for India’s defence sector, aiming to enhance R&D investment, export capabilities, and self-sufficiency.

The Defence PSU Bhavan stands as a testament to India’s evolving defence industrial base, reflecting not only operational excellence and innovation but also a strategic vision to establish India as a global manufacturing hub. The immersive AR/VR technology embedded within the Bhavan exemplifies how cutting-edge extended reality solutions are integral to accelerating defence innovation, improving battlefield readiness, and fostering a collaborative R&D environment among DPSUs.

As this new facility becomes operational, it promises to be a catalyst for transformative growth and technological advancement in India's defence production sector, heralding a new era where immersive technology and self-reliance go hand in hand to safeguard the nation and elevate its defence manufacturing prowess on the global stage.

This visionary initiative under Rajnath Singh's leadership marks a critical step toward a modern, resilient, and technologically empowered defence ecosystem in India
